Jeff Tang of 12FV is a Southern California raised artist, graphic designer, and more recently photographer. Living in suburbia for the majority of his childhood, Jeff instantly started to feel the constraints of his grey environment. He felt a lack of inspiration so he turned to graphic arts as a more colorful outlet. With no formal training, Jeff honed his design skills by collaborating on the interwebs.
Fast forward a few years, selling his own t-shirts and drawing stacks of black skechbooks later, 12FV moved to Hawaii for a 2 month hiatus, drawing and getting inspired by the nature around him. Soon after, he participated in his first group show with Poor Artist League in San Francisco fall of 2009. Since then, 12FV has been seeking the deeper meanings in life by using art as a vessel to explore it. Much like theatre, 12FV utilizes satire and humor to evoke questions about ourselves, about life, and the ever-changing social landscape of our generation.
12FV finds inspiration from our dependence on technology, the illusions of the media, over-consumption, our greed for money, the human foot print, the dichotomy of life and death, the never-ending struggle between good and evil, and the tiny bits of beauty scattered between.
