My name is Rory Canfield,I am an artist born and raised in San Diego. I have studied/practiced art the majority of my life, and for the last 5 years have been developing my art career in So-Cal through group and solo exhibits,live painting events,tradeshows, murals, videos, logo design, and more. In addition to traditional gallery showings, you can find me live painting many times a month for large crowds at San Diego’s top night-life scenes including; The House of Blues, The Ivy Hotel, The W Hotel, Bar Basic, The Hard Rock, and more, joined by a host of talented artists, musicians, dj’s, and entertainers for nights of pure creative professional explosiveness. My art is hugely influenced by the visual complexities of nature; the textures, lines, patterns, depths and colors never cease to keep me awestruck and forever inspired. I see beauty in the extremes of life and seem to have some level of chaos in all my art. My work almost always has a spiritual underlining; as everything in life does, and i try to capture this in my work. I enjoy pushing the limits of what is visually except-able and will often experiment with images, shapes, color, words etc. that push on standard comfort zones. I study history, world issues, alternative health, psychology, energy, spiritual teachings, world philosophies and other amazing info that come through to the canvas. here are a couple of my works, hope you enjoy.
