ABOUT

Hailing from the great state of Texas, powerhouse singer/songwriter Alicia Beale embodies the power that is reminiscent of LeAnn Rimes, the deep, sultry twang of Shania Twain, and the raw sound and soul of Janis Joplin. Growing up in a five-generation family, in small-town Batson, TX, gave her an eclectic taste in music, ranging from the early 1900’s to present-day, and a love for an array of genres. By her own recollection, music has been a part of Alicia’s life as long as she can remember, from the Cajun sounds of Zydeco in her grandmother’s kitchen, to the after-supper performances, as a small child, of her mother’s favorite Lorrie Morgan or Tammy Wynette songs. In 2008, at the age of 20, Beale made a difficult transition in her life. “One of the toughest life experiences was moving to Nashville on my own,” says the now-23-year-old. On a whim, with no money, an unreliable car, and an uncertainty of what would come of the lonely 14 hour drive from Southeast Texas to Nashville, Beale packed her bags and traded her lone-star flag to raise the tri-star flag of Tennessee. Alicia recently completed... ...She currently plays numerous live shows all over Nashville to keep up her chops while finishing her BBA in Music Business at Belmont University. “Performing downtown not only gave me the chance to hone my chops but also paved the way for me to meet some of Nashville’s most talented musicians and writers,” she says. “It also helped me put myself through school and prepare an EP I’m really proud of!” In addition to Rambeaux, she has collaborated with established hit songwriters such as Randy Boudreaux (“Brokenheartsville”), Karen Brooks (“Tennessee Rose”), Bob Regan (“Dig Two Graves”), Pebe Sebert (“Your Love Is My Drug”), and has shared the stage with some of Nashville’s most talented musicians. Beale is very proud of the material being released on her debut EP. “Most of the songs I just liked because they were fun, or were songs I had written.” But one song in particular holds a special place in her heart. During the preproduction process for the EP, former VP at ASCAP, Herky Williams, introduced Alicia to the song “Stronger” written by Hillary Lindsey. The song was actually written from the perspective of a former lover or significant other; however, Beale interpreted the lyrics as if they were words spoken by her mom, so Beale's redefining of the song really spoke to her. She says, “The things that have happened in my life have made me stronger,” and says she wants her attitude and her story to translate, empower, and inspire men and women, young and old, everywhere. Although her life has gone through many transitions, she says the events in her life have only given her ammunition for adventure and sanctioned her unstoppable attitude. A promising young star, Alicia Beale trusts that her story and message of strength and resilience will inspire others the same way she has been inspired by those who have come before her.
