For me, being a visual artist is about seeing the world in a unique and creative way that encourages others to make changes for the better. Inspiration comes from the recognition that everything is connected and a part of something else. Through finding patterns, repetition, and movement in the intricacies of nature and daily life, I am able to observe connections and bridge gaps in my own life and assist others to see those connections as well. Motivation is found through a desire to create paintings and drawings that exaggerate nature and illuminate the complex details that are uncommonly seen, while inspiring others to reflect on how their own actions affect others and this world. I grew up in San Jose, CA and have been living in Portland for two years. I obtained my BFA in Painting in 2007 from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Continuing to paint and draw I search for new ways to inspire others and myself by being involved in the art community, teaching art lessons, and continuing to push myself conceptually.
