An attendee of the Art Institute of Portland, Annie focuses her studies on marketing and accessory design; however make no mistake, she is far from an amateur. Since 2005, this young femme-bot has amassed a wealth of professional experience. Whether coordinating for niche events such as the Dew Tour and the AND1 Mixtape Tour, completing marketing stints for heavyweight mainstays such as Dove, Sony, Nautica and Trojan, or managing the backstages for Semper Fashion and Portland Fashion Week, Annie always brings her A-game… and her individuality.
Don’t forget – Annie Angell is a standout.
It might start with the purple hair, but it certainly doesn’t stop there. Annie Angell is a self-described “glitter-bot” and will tell you, “I get glitter injections straight into my veins”. Facemasks, brain-plates, eye patches, robot heads, knuckle-rings, and all sorts of huge and outlandishly sexy jeweled accessories – these are the things that Annie specializes in a wears on a daily basis. “I want people to see me as an innovative glitter-bot with a crazy imagination who pushes boundaries in fashion by making weird shit and rocking it wherever, pretty much.”
Daring, inventive, productive and determined are not a set of characteristics often attributed to a single person, but all of these adjectives are required to describe Annie Angell. After successful (and simultaneous) marketing and promotional stints with Hi Rollerz Records / Coast-2-Coast Mixtapes and Universal Music Group, Annie decided to focus on building her own brand rather than continue to work for a wage.
In June 2010, she launched her brand: Grape Juicy. More than just a clothing and accessory line, Annie focuses heavily on wardrobe styling and event production. Her technique marries the aggressive youthfulness of hip-hop fashion with the precociousness of couture, with the results varying seamlessly from street to swank – as does her clientele.
Athletes, musicians, models, and business folk all want to get Grape Juicy. Go ahead and get close, but don’t be surprised if you get a little glitter on you.
