Born creative, I\'ve loved arts and crafts for as long as I can remember. From making dollhouses to drawing tree houses, I was always working on a new project as a child. My first drawings included the sun, trees, an \'m\' for birds, flowers and a stick girl with a triangle for a dress. I wish I held on to those. Over a decade ago I launched a business called All Things Creative where I sold my handmade beaded jewelry. I never gave much thought to becoming a serious artist and drawing until my adult life. In 2012, I drew 5’x7’ portraits of flowers with watercolor pastel crayons for a group of coworkers and in turn they gave me an artist set complete with charcoal, a variety of pencils and other supplies. It took me 3 years to use it. Artistic drive and motivation has come to me in spurts throughout my life and although sometimes delayed, I’m thankful for the growth I’ve experienced. I’ve created more sketches in the past 5 months than I have in my entire life. I’m almost ready for paint. I became inspired around New Years of 2015 when it really set in that time is moving very fast and every second counts. Life is inspiring and it provides us with everything we think about. If we’re fortunate enough to get to draw, sing or dance and try our talent regularly, we owe it to those who can’t to live our gifts.
