ABOUT
We live in a fractured world. My work deeply examines the fractured self where desires are splintered, unclear and always changing form. Many of my paintings are from a series that is painted from collaged images taken from print advertisements. It is an exploration of the image, specifically the figure, in a society that is bombarded by imagery. There is a strong dialogue between master portraiture and a model in an advertisement campaign. The latter has drawn deeply from the former and as a figurative painter there is a strong need participate in this conversation.
