Abbey Howlett

Abbey Howlett is a vibrant musician making waves in Adelaide\'s arts community with her unique neo-soul style of songwriting and performance. She has played an active roll in the music scene for over 6 years, collaborating with various bands as a guest vocalist and honing her own original works in which she is constantly pushing the boundaries of sound, colour and creativity. Abbey\'s dynamic solo performances finds her angelic voice and vintage guitar layered over driving, tribal rhythms using loops and effects. This performance is extended into richness with her newly founded four piece band The Golden Realm. Their debut E.P. \'Collectively\' was released into the ether earlier in 2014 with a sold out Adelaide Fringe show. This cosmic four track work takes the listener on a smooth harmonic journey through Abbey\'s conscious thoughts over a bed of psychedelic guitar tracks and fat hip hop inspired beats. Abbey has supported artists like Kevin Mark Trail (x singer of U.K. Hip hop band The Streets), Melbourne’s\' Soul Safari, local talent The Audreys and New Zealand’s\' Reggae sensations Katchafire just to name a few and featured in festivals such as Adelaide Fringe Festival, Scumfest, Telltale and Vine, Spring Affair and Mardy Grass Festival along with launching \'The Jam Room\'s\' first Cafe Series.
