Emerging from the depths of Washington DC’s rock scene comes Achtung Panda, a rock and roll quintet complete with beards, sweat, and Vlad, the token mad Russian. After forming in 2007, Achtung Panda has infested every shady bar and in the area, infuriating their denizens with their god-awful racket in the hopes of someday leading a triumphant humanity into hyperspace. The band is nearly finished with their debut release, which A.P. anticipates will shake DC’s rock scene to its core. Combining influences from traditional DC hardcore with a smattering of psychedelia and Norwegian black metal, they are quite possibly the best psychedelic-hardcore-black metal-synthpop to come out of DC’s music scene.
