Visual Art – Phoenix

I was born in Houston to a crazy, loving, humorous, big, culturally appreciative Mexican family. Even though you might not detect an accent don’t let that fool you…I am very much Mexican! I am proud to be an American for all it stands for, especially for its freedom, bravery and entrepreneurship spirit. My Mexican heritage has definitely given me some rich and strong roots because I also lived for more than 10 years in Mexico like San Miguel de Allende where I studied Art right out of high school, lived in the Yucatan Peninsula, the southern Pacific coast like Chiapas and la Huasteca in northern Mexico as well as other places for shorter periods of time. An awesome art program and scholarship allowed me to study in Florence Italy and later paint for several months at a time in Granada, Spain. So, I have traveled and I have loved learning from all these cultures because it has enriched my perspective in my personal life as well as my artwork. Second answer My relationship with art began literally with crayons. It might sound cliché but I remember drawing and painting at a very early age and can feel that joy of creating and seeing how my ideas come time life of their own on paper or canvas. Over time this passion has also become a thriving business. It is a blessing that keeps on giving because it has also allowed me to develop art sessions with individuals to help them focus, heal or communicate whether they are autistic or not.
