Agnes in Wonderland

Visual Art – Denver

Agnes is a curious and observant individual with a Peter Pan complex. She works in Denver in front of a rather large screen and next to a large machine that spits out paper. She is an artist, a graphic designer and a pre-press operator. As a child, Agnes collected baby chickens -- these yellow peeps were her first favorite bird. Trauma was introduced when a big fat pig ate one of the chicks. The pig was sent to slaughter the same day, leading Agnes to believe in what is known to many as “karma.” Her art is influenced by her life and events that every human can relate to in some form or another. Each piece created is in itself a story, sometimes open to interpretation by the viewer. Agnes creates using primarily watercolor and ink, though gets adventurous and sometimes uses pencil, acrylic, fabric, colored pencils, pastels, and even scissors, among other things.
