Her latest A/W 13 Collection \'Strange Fruit\' initial research is inspired by three concepts Rorschach test, African culture and slavery. The concepts link together looking into the damaging psychological effects of slavery and how it affected people mentally. Adding elements of prints inspired by the Rorschach test Amina manipulates the cotton by bleaching and dyeing the yarn to create a whole new fabric, she hand draws on the garments intricate detail adding elements of texture creating a worn yet delicate feel reflecting to her concept. The clashing of colours adds a fun yet ironic twist to her collection, the use of traditional African batik fabrics with juxtaposition of knit. The collection is autum/winter, the silhouettes Amina has used are large oversized shapes which makes her collection unisex.
