Amy Harvie Art

Amy Schwartzmann Harvie is a self taught Louisiana artist born and raised. She has been creating her whole life but started to take it more seriously in 2008 while in college at LSU. Amy works in mixed media, involving found objects, oil and acrylic paints, ceramics, cement, jewelry and more. Amy’s work is a representation of her view on life, expressed through abstracted collage that weave together her concepts addressing the psychological and emotional challenges we all go through in this life. While most paintings are clearly inspired by the beauty found in nature and everyday objects, her degree in psychology has helped drive her work to investigate common issues of contemporary humanity.
