I am a sister, daughter, mother, lover, artist, crafter; a visionary, a survivor. I am many things; but a quitter I am not. 2016 was a revolutionary year for me. A somewhat new marriage, a new baby, and a new diagnosis of Breast Cancer. The summer of 2016 was spent in doctors offices, on operating tables, and holding my tiny daughter as close as possible. I was scared, physically weak and teetering on broken - but I stayed strong and fought. This process compelled me to look inward, to search my soul to better understand what makes me tick. I came to realize that the need to create was absolutely fundamental to my being. I set out to find the creative spark that I had allowed to fizzle out so many years ago. In college I minored in studio with a focus in acrylic and charcoal. But in time realized that these mediums would not provide me the success and freedoms that I desired, so I allowed them to slip away. Then, while recovering from my surgeries I found crystals. I immersed myself in learning about semi-precious stones and their powerful healing properties. I began collecting bits of rose quartz and hematite, carnelian and garnet, to help me focus my positive energies where they were intended to be. I began my journey toward my most authentic life. I began to live in the present rather than fear the future. As I watched my daughter grow, I was inspired by her innocent curiosity and sense of wonder at the world around her. I practiced seeing things through her eyes. I began to truly see the textures and colors around me. I spent a great deal of time wandering through thrift stores with my sleeping baby, touching the different patterns and materials that people had deemed useless. It was in those aisles that Anjali was born. I took my love for upcycling and reducing waste, and my need for healing and ‘present’ living and began creating again. My goal is to create functional, sustainable, beautiful accessories utilizing high quality, natural, upcycled (whenever possible) materials. My journey is fluid. I do not claim to produce one, single type of jewelry or accessory; I allow my creativity to lead me, which ultimately results in the creation of unique, authentic pieces that are from my heart and soul. My creations are designed for beauty and function. They include: * Chakra pendant- upcycled leather and a variety of metals combined with representational stones for each of the seven chakras of the body - designed to balance and ground the wearer. * Diffuser Jewelry- Lava rock and hand rolled wool felt balls accented by metaphysically relevant stones. These two unique vessels hold aroma therapy oils that help heal and center. * Dream Catchers- Upcycled materials woven together to create intricate designs that promote peaceful, soothing sleep and protection. * Bless/witch balls and pendants- mindful blends of intentioned minerals, herbs, crystals, and other natural materials. Each blend has a specific purpose. Every single day since I strive to create beautiful things that are of benefit to both myself and all who enjoy them! My mission is to create jewelry and gifts that combine beauty and benefit, form and function, the magical combination of the natural and spiritual worlds, merged within each and every creation that I hand-craft with love and intention.
