Anna Barbera Jewelry

Accessories – San Antonio

I grew up outside of Pittsburgh, PA, and moved to Chicago, IL, to get my master\'s degree in Vocal Performance at Northwestern University. While I was there, I realized that wasn\'t really the career I wanted and after graduation, was able to travel with my fiancé, an opera singer and a San Antonio native, and see much more of the world than I ever thought possible. I was able to absorb rich culture and art styles from places like Seattle, Santa Fe, Los Angeles, and even abroad in Russia, France, and Italy. My mother-in-law to be, herself a gifted and wonderful jewelry artist, took me under her wing and showed me how to start creating pieces. I found the perfect outlet for my creativity, and to me working with wire is very similar to singing. They both require patience, focus, a firm grasp on technique but being careful not to use too much force, and the best work happens when I\'m enjoying just being in the process. Most of my pieces incorporate wire wrapping or wire weaving, using sterling silver wires in many different gauges, natural stones, and high quality crystal accents. I use minimal tools in my work, most is done completely by hand. I love making custom jewelry, and my specialties include wire wrapped pendants and monogrammed wire art.
