Arabian Silk, a professional St. Louis based Belly Dance Company, comprised of experienced professional dancers. Each company member is highly skilled at performing as a soloist and with staged ensemble choreographies of the dance company. A modern belly dance company, fusing elements of today’s world dance while committed to continuing and maintaining the character/traditions of this form of dance that has roots back to the beginning of organized cultural human history. Arabian Silk, the professional performing dance company of Aalim Belly Dance was formed in 2006. At that time the leaders of the troupe were inspired to share the beauty of their ancient art form with a larger audience and at a higher level. They work hard to add a modern touch to their choreographies so as to appeal to today’s audience; and they continue to present belly dance with elegance, beauty and skill.
