Fashion – Nashville
A little about me! My name is Nikke Shanabrough and I'm
currently I'm living in Fort Campbell,KY. Due to the fact my
husband is active duty Army. We have a 9 month old son who will be a
year old in August. In the fall we will be moving to another base in Va. The
crazy part is I'm actually studying nursing in college,but my passion
is fashion. I'm not the first person you would think who sits there and
studies Harpers Bazaar, and the up and coming trends. I'm a jeans and
t-shirt kinda girl. I've played sports all my life,but had a hidden
secret of love for fashion. I use to dream about creating a clothing line
tailored to women athletes body. Eventually one day I will get
there, until then I'm creating jewelry pieces.
What got me started in making jewelry was I was at a jewelry party and
I had heard a few girls saying how they wish they could buy more
pieces. But due to the prices of the pieces, they could only afford to buy a piece
or two. I went home from that party racking out my brain on how to make an
affordable line, but with high quality beads. I learned that bead and
gemstones shows were going to play a huge role in me being able
to bring this line to life. So the next day I taught myself how to make the pieces.
I first started out with stretch bracelets and now I can make just
about anything. I'm driven by the creativity that you get to display from
making a piece. Some people may say oh it's just another necklace in the
world, when really its not. It's a designer way of displaying their art.
So I hope with the art I have created, people are able to have that high end
look with just about any budget. I keep my prices low, so people don't have to say "oh it
looks like the dollar menu for a week or two, so I can save up to buy that piece of jewelry I want." haha!!
