Visual Art – Spokane

Hi friends! I encourage you to check out my photos for a better idea of what I've been up to. My art says infinitely more than my words can communicate! <3 Art has always been an outlet for me; even therapeutic. There is just something about creating something out of nothing, that is beautiful and uplifting. For as long as I can remember, art has been a part of who I am. I've colored, painted, written, sketched, sculpted, acted, played guitar, and sang. Although, I never truly immersed myself into painting until recent years. After struggling with depression most of last year after an unexpected diagnosis, I was craving something I couldn't quite put my finger on; a purpose. It was when I came across an acrylic paint set at Value Village for $5.00 that I felt a fire light in my soul. Shortly after that, I stocked up my studio and dabbled here and there for awhile, still battling that damn depression, but I kept going. I kept working and creating. I kept on and on until I found my niche. Acrylic pouring. I remember watching videos of other artists’ work and thinking I had to try. I knew I could do it. I went out and got more supplies and the rest is history. Well, a short history; this is really just the beginning. I think, in hindsight, I've realized that what I love most about creating is exactly why I'm still standing, breathing, truly soaking in life and enjoying it. Not long ago, I was that blank canvas; I felt like nothing, but with some good ol' self-love, spiritual healing, and a stinkin' good deal on acrylic paints, I've made something out of nothing. On canvas and in my life. I create art to feel a deeper connection with my purpose on this earth. I create art because of how it lifts my spirits and gives me something to be proud of. I create art to heal. Thank you for visiting. Can't wait to meet you all at the show! Xo, Aud. INSPIRATIONS: The inspiration for my work comes from everything around me; even the mundane. Specifically, I find ideas for color medleys in nature; the changing of seasons, a beautiful sunrise, ocean waves, or even the intricate designs of animal fur or snake skin. Additionally, I find inspiration through numerous other artists through social media. We are so lucky to have this tool at our fingertips! I am constantly researching, expanding, and learning from the art community. A couple of my favorite artists, who happen to also be from Washington state, are Christina Sutra and Ben Joyce. If you have not seen their work, I encourage you to check them out.
