Authentic: Grooves

Performer, Choreographer, and Photographer, Jamie Carr, was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Jamie loves to learn and work with others to accomplish a common goal. Jamie’s passion for performing and knowledge led her to graduate Magna Cum Laude from California State University Long Beach with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance and an Associates Arts degree in Photography. Upon graduation Jamie has begun to establish her company Authentic. Jamie strives to eliminate the preconceived notions one may have when viewing dance and create an authentic connection with her audience. Authenticity is a constant collaboration with her company members and physical exploration and of the complexities of human emotion. Jamie has been fortunate to work with high profile professors and choreographers. She has also been able to experience dance abroad including Austria, Italy, and Spain, giving her a distinctive perspective from which to draw upon in her creative process.
