Visual Art – Omaha

Lifelong love of all things art and science. A biologist by day, I studied botany for my Master\'s degree in the Amazon rainforest living there for almost two years. I am an avid gardener and work with groups to bring about change in local food systems. As an artist I have a proficiency in most media including ceramics and glass blowing; however, my media of choice is oil on canvass. I like to integrate science and art through abstraction. I use line, color, and movement to guide the viewer through my paintings. I create non-objective, abstract art because a piece may read differently to different people or in different orientations. They are not simply pictures of a bowl of fruit, but hold their interpretations to the viewer through their own personal lens. For myself, art is a means to balance my mind and a necessary creative habit. I hope to create pieces that patrons could find both stimulating and intriguing, and plan on creating a greater diversity of work in the near future.
