Visual Art – Cleveland
I am an abstract painter characterized by bold lines and colours. The feelings that I express through my work are powerful and hard to ignore, so the images directly reflect that. My inspiration comes from emotions or life events that are taboo to speak about in most social settings including mental illness, parental struggles and misfortune.
A lot of my style was originally characterized by cubism. I have felt the need to dissect the canvas through lines because that is how people express themselves on the topics that I deal with. Because I use a wide array of colour, I am also able to invoke feelings of confusion or emotion in my viewer that helps them to empathize with my subject.
