Visual Art – Phoenix

I found my passion for art at the age of eleven and it all started with a comic book. Now, the majority of my projects focus on the human condition, mostly through collage portraits. The collage portraits are drawn from scratch with silver ink, white ink, or acrylic paint on black and white duplex paper. Then they are ripped into pieces and combined with other inked/painted portraits to create a final, three dimensional portrait on canvas. Most works are made from three different portraits. When I create a portrait, I think of who I am creating, what they may be feeling and going through. Then I might combine a part of them with a different portrait that is the polar opposite of that first portrait. Perhaps they can still relate to each other even though they seem they shouldn\'t be able to. Since my art pieces revolve around human emotion and push the boundaries of interpretation, hidden words or symbols are usually integrated within the piece. My inspiration is derived from my family, myths, unique individual stories, and from my own personal experiences.
