Bany Gonzalez

Visual Art – Miami

Bany Gonzalez was born in Honduras in 1981 but raised in Miami, FL since the age of four. During her school years Bany did not pursue any formal art training. Nevertheless, in 2000, during her senior year at Miami Senior High School, Bany\'s first acrylic painting of a sunset won a Silver Key at The Scholastic Art Awards and was exhibited at the Miami Art Museum. It wasn\'t until many years later in 2012 when Bany began to fully pursue her long forgotten dream of becoming an artist. Since then, she has broken out of her cocoon and began exhibiting her work through the RAW: Natural Born Artists organization. Recent group exhibitions include RAW Miami Provocations 2012, RAW Miami Kaleidoscope 2013 and being nominated as a visual artist semi-finalist in the RAWards Miami 2012. With a focus on realism and surrealism thru the use of acrylics and ink, Bany expresses her passion for life, photography and nature. She is currently aspiring to expose her artwork to a broader audience while experimenting with different styles and mediums in the pursuit of artistic growth.
