Visual Art – Raleigh

Brandon Dudley is originally from Kinston, NC and is based in Spartanburg SC, where he specializes in portraiture. He attended Miami International University of Art & Design and Pitt-Community College. His work has been in group exhibitions in Charlotte, Raleigh, Kinston, Greenville, and Winterville, NC. Inspired by Hip Hop, Urban Fashion, and Art History, he creates portraits of African- American men with characteristics of heroism, nobility, and strength, referencing images from different periods of art history. His depictions of African-American women explores the captivating elegance of black beauty. He strives to create a platform that recreates and redefines black identity due to the damaging effects of negative media images and slavery.
