Visual Art – Boise

I work in a studio in Boise, Idaho, where I take inspiration from the local food growers, artisans and surrounding landscapes for my oil paintings. My paintings stray from the often stuffy take on realist still life. I seek to bring attention to the visual exquisiteness of sustainable, locally grown foods and to pay homage to everyday objects that symbolize our lives. Enlightenment exists in realizing small things. Paul Cézanne said, “A time is coming when a carrot, freshly observed, will trigger a revolution.” I sell at the Capital City Public Market, BAM Art in the Park, BOSCO, online and through commissions. When not creating art, you can find me oogling over my daughter Olive, running in the foothills with my dog, mountain biking on Boise\'s single-track trails, playing soccer and Ultimate Frisbee at Ann Morrison Park, fly fishing with my husband Rob, or reading a novel by the wood burning stove in our 1917 home.
