Visual Art – Seattle

I am a 27 year old artist and teacher living in Seattle. I have my Masters degree in Teaching, and I am certified to teach language arts and Humanities. I love to travel and have spent a lot of time in East Africa. One of my best accomplishments was getting to the top of Mt. Kilimajaro when I was nineteen years old. I studied Human Rights in college and wanted to pursue a teaching career because I really believed in the power of education. I want to inspire my students by showing them my passion and creativity for art. Art is a powerful tool for social change. I love living in the Pacific Northwest, and I find a lot of inspiration for my drawings in the shapes that take up nature. I draw mandalas and repeated designs with micron pens and tombow paintbrush dual tip markers. Anxiety is sometimes difficult to cope with, so I take solace in drawing intricate designs. I first started drawing in this particular style when I discovered the Zentangle method. It is a meditative drawing technique that focuses on calming your brain and focusing on intricate details. My other art forms are guitar, ceramics, and writing.
