Brittanie Loren

I grew up in a quiet rural town in Texas and was home schooled until I was twelve years old. Having less social interaction than most kids, I grew up in my own imaginings and have always loved creating stories in my mind. As I got older, these stories manifested as drawings, and eventually through writing and photography. Today I use each of these mediums to bring my dreams to physical form. I\'m a self taught artist. I work in digital photography, but I strive to simulate the old beauty of film. My photos ground me and my art in reality, finding meaning where it is often missed, or creating one. I like to take photographs of things that people don’t often notice or appreciate fully, the “beauty in the mundane.” I photograph a variety of subjects, most notably landscapes and the scenes from a girl’s life in the South. Many of these scenes are self portraits.
