Birds Kept North

Accessories – Minneapolis

When I was growing up, I remember sitting on my grandma\'s lap, learning how to thread a needle. I have always had a passion for sewing which has lead to learning a handful of creative processes including painting, silk-screening, batik, and knitting. After I graduated college in 2012, I trademarked my business name and started working full time on Birds Kept North. I soon became part of every craft fair around, but I was looking to open some kind of online shop for my products to be available at my customers convenience. I opened Birds Kept North on Etsy in September of 2013. My small business has evolved tremendously since it began. I can\'t wait to see where it takes me. Fun Facts: - I designed the North Dakota State University official tartan, which is registered in Scotland. - I designed and sewed my own wedding dress using thrift fabric and vintage lace curtains, as well as designed and sewed my bridesmaids\' dresses, groomsmens\' vests and bowties.
