Kate Law

Performing Art – Boston

Kate Law is a circus artist. She specializes in aerials and the Cyr Wheel, a rigid metal hoop 5.5 ft in diameter in which she spins while manipulating centrifugal force to create a mesmerizing and acrobatic dance. Her favorite aerial apparatus are the trapeze and the aerial shell, an apparatus that she designed herself (it\'s pictured to the right). Kate\'s movement training began with dance and competitive gymnastics. It spread to rock climbing, a four-year affair with pole vaulting and a lifetime relationship with dance and circus arts. Kate is currently performs, choreographs and does movement direction for the Boston Circus Guild in addition to choreographing, performing, and producing for her own company, Bow & Sparrow. She has performed with Tensile Dance (Tacoma, WA), as well as Jo Krieter/Flyaway Productions, Project Bandaloop, The Crucible, and Supperclub in the Bay Area. She has trained with Master Lu Yi (SF Circus Center), Stephane Beauregard (Cirque du Soleil), Ethan Law (L’Ecole National du Cirque), and Veronique Thibeault (L’Ecole National du Cirque). Just to round of the skills Kate also has acting and singing training from American Repertory Theater in San Francisco. She loves ninjas.
