Fashion – Brisbane
Established in 2015 and based in Brisbane, Bowie Empire is a high end streetwear label inspired by Torres Strait Island culture. We are a team of two Creative Directors aiming to exhibit our culture through fashion and to showcase our work on a global scale. Our target market consists of creative individuals who are heavily involved in performance, music, culture, art, sports, dance and the social scene. Bowie Empire is about providing great quality and sustainable apparel with all garments proudly designed and made in Australia.
We would also like to give a special mention to the artist of the Torres Strait Islander flag, the late Bernard Namok. Our very first piece the Dhari 1994 crewneck displays the dhari (headdress) from the national Torres Strait Islander flag.
