Fashion – Melbourne
Brendan Smith is passionate about haute couture and his \'signature\' style is without question a meticulous attention to detail, high labour of love, defining that ultimate feminine silhouette.
He graduated from Melbourne School of Fashion in 2013. That year Brendan was a winning finalist for the Arts of Fashion Foundation Student International Competition, showcasing his sumptuous and delicately intricate garments in San Francisco. From there Brendan headed to Paris in 2014 to study a summer Masterclass for the Arts of Fashion. Learning Parisian techniques from Maison Lesage and Ateliers Lognon of Chanel, he exhibited his opulent pieces in the Louvre, chosen for a private photo shoot in the Museum.
This was followed by an internship with a French couture designer for the rest of 2014. He recently was excited to return to Australia to start developing his label of one-off couture pieces and a ready-to-wear range. His ambition is to run his design label while also designing costumes for film and theatre.
