Photography – Seattle

I grew up in Waukegan, Il., and made my way to Seattle over the course of a military career spanning more than ten years. After my second combat deployment in Iraq I found myself needing an outlet to share my visions, dreams and, sometimes, even my nightmares. My father was a shutterbug when I was growing up and I had taken a photo class in high school, so photography seemed to be a natural choice of media. I invested in a DSLR camera and practiced with it until I left active duty and enrolled at the Art Institute of Seattle. Since starting my formal education my skill in photography has grown by leaps and bounds. Each class brings a new tool to add to my skill set. I continue to serve the military in the Washington Army National Guard as a public affairs specialist performing photojournalism missions. I capture images and write news releases about Army National Guard activities world wide.
