I started deconstructing machinery for jewelry materials more than 20 years ago. Deconsruction is at the core of my art. Now I am \"deconstructing\" industrial metals including license plates and signage to create the colored material I use in my jewelry, belt buckles and wall art. I create all of my belt buckles using vintage American license plates and other industrial metals collected from attics, dusty barns, and farm auctions. Each buckle is carefully inlaid with individually cut, hammered and filed bits of metal. The buckles are then hand waxed multiple times to create a gleaming surface. As a final step, each buckle is signed and numbered. Each of my buckles is unique and one-of-a-kind, just like the people who wear them.
