I love Resin❤️ I love seeing the reaction it makes when you add just a drop of alcohol, ink, or other chemical or additive. Seeing the reaction resin makes naturally and unnaturally with just heat and pigments. Working with resin has helped heal me in many ways. I have been painting and crafting as far as I can remember. This truly is my passion. When I first started there wasn’t many videos and there wasn’t many people brave enough to try it. I have to admit my first 2 bottles stayed in the box for a few weeks before I attempted. I couldn’t just go to a class so I stayed up many nights trying to figure out the secrets to the mysterious mistress resin. I went on Facebook joined groups. If you have inspired me in any way I wanted to be your friend and see what you are creating to learn so I don’t have to make the same mistakes. Watching live videos from start to end. Even the 4 hour ones. I knew if I had questions so did others. I didn’t stop there. I started staying up all night with people in places like Australia, UK and Norway. I joined a few groups in different languages thinking they have somehow cracked how to control and contain this really sticky stuff. Many artists have a unique look to there work. I got to know who they were by just looking at there artwork. I knew I wanted to do something different something unique. I was inspired. I wanted to play. I want to make things pop with resin. Make things 3 dimensional with lots of textures. Suffering for knowledge one day I saw a pottery video. In the video the women mentioned a pigment place. As always I research to see what they have for sale. The gorgeous pigments were pure. Pure ground up stone from gods green earth. Yes! I feels good to have something different. I know I am not the only person who has tried this. I just want to be unique and try something a little different. I also work with children teaching them the many techniques I have learned and letting them flow creating one of a kind art every time. Resin has helped me free my mind and not think about constant pain that comes with fibromyalgia and PTSD. Even though mixing makes my arm hurt, I can always switch hands. Lucky resin is ok with you mixing really slowly. Removing resin from my molds and checking on my pice to see how much it has shifted in the night gets me up in the morning. Seeing other artists who use resin inspires me to go bigger and thicker. Even if it is tiny tiny little resin roses or a large canvas I enjoy every minute of it. I have everything within reach all I have to do is mix. I pray that I will be playing and making a mess with resin for years to come because #iloveresinmesses!
