Visual Art – Miami

Art has always been a big part of Carol's life. Born in Brooklyn, NY, her love of art began at a very early age. As a child, she designed doll clothes and paper dolls, and was always drawing. In high school, she joined the art club, and spent after school hours with fellow art students studying under the school art professor. After graduation, she became an art major for only a brief period, but the study of art history and various media stuck with her. As a single mother, Carol pursued a business career, earning her B.S. in Management Science, and was very successful for many years as IT Director at one of the world’s largest health care manufacturing corporations. Her career took her to many countries, where she always checked out the local art and museums. Continuing to pursue the arts through self-education and various forms, from photography to jewelry making, the urge to pursue art as a career was always there. After a challenging period in her life, she began to write poetry and to paint watercolors. She decided to take an early retirement and moved to Miami 5 years ago. She was determined to become immersed in the art community, and begin her second career as an artist full time. As an emerging artist, she borders on both a modern impressionist and an abstract expressionist, often combining the two, while keeping her subjects still recognizable. She paints colorful landscapes and abstracts, mostly in watercolors or acrylics. Carol prefers to paint in an organic style, using her love of color, her emotions, and the strokes of her brush to allow her creations to emerge.
