Visual Art – Baltimore

I credit my artistic abilities to restless hand syndrome. Since preschool, nearly every test, permission slip, and homework assignment has been turned in covered with the doodles of idle hands. I figured if practice makes perfect, and I can\'t make a career out of breathing, art was the obvious path to take. Currently, I am employed by Goofy Faces as a caricature artist at the Baltimore Aquarium. I won\'t be buying a Lamborghini anytime soon, but certainly I\'d rather live a passionate life as a starving artist than begrudgingly drag myself in to a 9 to 5. *My art is not a photograph, photoshopped to death. Like other artists, I begin with a blank canvas. My canvas, however is digital. Using my Wacom graphic\'s tablet, hour after hour, layer after layer, brush stroke after brush stroke, I create what you see here. Certainly, I can never replicate the freeness of watercolor or the texture of oil, but hopefully digital art can begin to hold it\'s own in this digital age.
