Cecilia Riebl

I am a Melbourne based artist working mainly with oils. My works explore natural forms - primitive underwater life, decaying foliage, the microscopic world of plant cells. My portraits provide a counterpoint to this quiet and disembodied world, full of the intensity of human emotion that so often dictates how we move through our lives. Through my practice I am seeking out an elemental place of stillness and contemplation.
