Fashion – Chicago

I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. At the age of 19, I moved to Japan for a year and later joined the U.S. military. From the experiences I made in Japan, Europe and the Middle East while serving in the military I realized that I wanted to be a part of the fashion world. Inspired by the diversity that fashion has to offer in different countries, I started sketching random ideas for dresses and outfits while stationed in Iraq for almost a year. Being isolated for a year gave me the perfect opportunity to focus all of my free time towards art and designing. Torn between Graphic Artist and Fashion Designer I figure out what I want to do with my life after watching \"The Devil Wears Prada\" After Iraq I was stationed in Europe, which had the biggest impact on me. I was right where I belonged, at the heart of fashion; I went to fashion cities like London, Paris, Madrid and Milan and gained an insight of the Haute Couture and high fashion world. After completing my six year term of active duty, I left the Army in 2011, however, instead of letting my equipment and uniforms go to waste, I decided to create my first mini collection: Military Glam, which I dedicated it to my time in the Army. From there I worked closely together with a Chicago base magazine UstyleU and was featured in the UK based magazine Fashion Affairs.
