Charlotte Tegan

Visual Art – Brisbane

Charlotte Tegan is a curator, writer, visual artist and creative professional. Pursuing a keen interest in the history of the visual, Charlotte investigates the notions of documentation, representation and interpretation, and the importance of the visual in personal reflection and social interaction. As a visual artist, Charlotte demonstrates a preoccupation with both light and time through an exploration of analogue film photography and sculptural forms. Juxtaposing our expected and projected realities with actual physical spaces presented by the world around us, she explores the ways in which these ideas affect our lives and how we continually aim to manipulate them. Charlotte has pursued the creation of visual art for many years, but formally began to create comprehensive bodies of work while under a self-directed residency in New York during 2014 while simultaneously completing an internship at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum for her Masters degree.
