Chau Nguyen

I am a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University and will be graduating this December 2014. I\'m majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. My ultimate career goal is to become a pediatric surgeon in the future. I have two part-time jobs (math instructor at Mathnasium and hostess at a Chinese restaurant) along with my volunteer work and community services. Drawing was my childhood hobby. I started drawing when I was 5 years old, but I stopped this hobby at age 12. These posted drawings are my first set of drawings after 13 years. I always believe that art, in any form, is crucial for life, no matter which field a person works in. I have found that drawing helps me to relieve stress from school and work. I think that drawing is not just the ability to draw, but also the ability to look and to observe. Drawing has helped me to improve my observation and focus on the smallest details. This may be beneficial for me in my future career because good observation and carefulness are extremely important for scientific and medical works.
