Chris Soto was born on November 23rd, 1986 and raised in Patillas, Puerto Rico. As a 12 year old child, Chris started to feel the passion of Art while drawing popular Japanese Comics. Soon after and during his attendance at High School in Patillas, PR he met an art teacher named Ms. Vera, alias “Maggie”, who influenced him greatly. After she surveyed some of Chris\' art work, she fell in love with his art. And even though Chris wasn’t registered in her Art Class, she invited him to attend her class in his free time. Two years later, Chris Soto decided to participate in a National Art Competition called “Congrearte”, organized by the House of Representatives Committee in Washington, DC. Among 500 other private and public schools in Puerto Rico participated in this contest, but Chris obtained the First Place by representing a piece depicting the flag of Puerto Rico as the body of a beautiful \"India Taína\". As part of his prize, he had the opportunity to exhibit his art for one year in the Cannon Tunnel in Washington, DC (U.S. Capitol). Chris has won more than 5 National Art Competitions, with exhibits in Puerto Rico, California, Washington, DC, and Canada. Currently, Chris is an Industrial Engineer working for the Department of Defense in Baltimore, MD. In his spare time, Chris still makes Art and it is his most beloved activity.
