Visual Art – Seattle

I have lived on Vashon Island here in the Northwest for over 30 years with my husband Tim and our two sons Brandon and Willy. I starting painting in December of 2013 because I wanted to give something meaningful to my father for Christmas. We had visited the Dolomites in Italy the previous Spring and I thought a painting of a vista that he had enjoyed would be the perfect gift. I had never painted anything before this and at the age of 56 I discovered how fun and therapeutic it was for me. Being a Breast Cancer survivor with many surgeries following chemotherapy, I haven’t been able to work for what seems an eternity. Painting fills a void within me and lifts my spirits. I chose acrylics because they seem to “jive” with my style of painting. I have no patience for finicky oils and their seemingly endless drying time. I’m looking forward to many more years of creating things that bring joy. I am a work in progress and I\'m lovin\' it!
