Colonial Blue is a 3-piece Indie Band hailing from Houston, Texas. The members of the band are - Stephanie Rice, Corey Chierighino, and Jonathan Ward. All are multi-instrumentalists with over 25 years combined playing experience between them. The band formed in the Summer of 2013 when Stephanie began collaborating with Corey, and Jonathan joined the band in the summer of 2014. They found a signature sound in their diversity of backgrounds and musical tastes. Sonically, each song they craft has wonderful dynamics that will drive the listener on a journey through the melody and message. While you can hear the many influences in their music, they truly have a unique and engaging sound. The combination of what each member brings to the table melds into a cross-genre auditory experience. Their music is indie with strong hints of folk, pop and folk-rock. Stephanie is the main songwriter and vocalist in the band. She began playing piano and drums in her teens and picked up the guitar at 19. Her songwriting began almost immediately thereafter. She has a way of crafting songs that evoke an emotional response from the audience. Corey is the drummer in the band. Having played since he was 13, he has a tight, driving rhythmic style that helps define Colonial Blue\'s songs. Jonathan is the band\'s guitarist and bassist. He has an eclectic style that carries influence from blues, rock, jazz, and classical music.
