Visual Art – Tulsa

I\'m a self taught artist. I started oil painting in 1986 at age 11. I painted for a few years, tried some other mediums and found some new favorites in graphite pencils, charcoal pencils, and colored pencils. I favored these mediums until age 17, and then decided to revisit oil painting. I have had many life changes through the years that kept me from creating art consistently, but in 2011 my wife and family helped convince me to pursue art again and I\'m in it for life now. My current mediums are oil painting (Andre, Jimi), graphite pencil drawing(Bedtime, heART), 24kt. Gold metalpoint/Silverpoint drawing(The Kiss Goodbye), charcoal pencil drawing. Photorealism is my genre, I have always had a love for this art form since discovering the work of Chuck Close in 1991. My work is a time consuming journey on a quest to take lead of the viewers mind and thoughts for a moment on this journey with me. I carefully place shapes in an attempt to retrieve certain details, to fool the eye, and make the viewer think about human life, or a life experience. Becoming a nationally recognized modern master is a career goal of mine. I am now a full time artist, I work on creating art almost every day and I love it. It\'s what I have always wanted to do, and now I am living my dream. I hope you enjoy my work, thanks for looking!
