Visual Art – Seattle

Mom,Artist,Entrepreneur, Lover of Life and Sunrises! Being told I am so open minded that my brains are falling out is one of the most awesome compliments I have ever received. I have found that sharing life experiences and childhood memories can be therapeutic, not only for ourselves but for the people we share with. My art has given me an opportunity to share myself with people in ways I had never imagined. In creating art I often find my inspiration from things that others toss aside. It is like finding a piece of a puzzle that I can continue to build on, or create something entirely different. For me creating art it is a lot about being able to feel free to be spontaneous and a bit like story telling. I find it rewarding and exciting to share with people what inspired me or how a project came to be. What is even better is inviting them out to come create a piece on their own. I was introduced to welding as a toddler when I would accompany my father into his workshop where he designed and fabricated custom motorcycles. After my father’s passing in October 2009, I picked up a welding torch to overcome my grief and a found object artist was born. “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” Thomas Merton
