Visual Art – Boston

Born in Tuscon AZ, grew up in Woodstock NY, and New Haven CT. Constantly surrounded by art early in life while living in Woodstock, I naturally became obsessed with the local art scene and began painting and drawing anything and everything I could. Moving to New Haven I became interested in street art and everything to do with the new city life. Soon after moving to new haven I Attended pre college at RISD where I focused mostly on photo realistic drawing and Painting. After attending RISD for mostly drawing, and painting, I began to become bored with drawing and painting and found new interest in video work and animation. I then Applied to SMFA and Tufts University where I was accepted for the BFA program with focus in video. Although originally going to the School of the Museum of fine arts/ Tufts University for video , after my first two years I dove back into painting, where I fell in love with the great abstract expressionists of our time ie. De Kooning, Picasso, etc. Still very attracted to movement, I found myself trying to bridge my video work with my painting. Trying to create time within the paintings, creating movement to express this. I now work on large scale canvas painting heavily layered abstractions, that are created from objects that excite me. These recent paintings are created in a variety of media, including acrylic, oil, charcoal, gauche, and ink. Since graduating from Tufts University and SMFA with a Bachelor of fine arts, I have now been pursuing gallery shows. Currently I have a show up at Pavement Coffee House in Boston, and a show booked for the Piano Craft Guild Gallery in the South End for January 1st.
