Visual Art – San Antonio

I was born on December 14, 1988 in San Antonio, Texas. My mother’s side of the family is where the artistry bug comes from. My sister is also an artist, Niki Aguirre, who is a photographer. I’ve been a musician for most of my life playing an orchestras worth of instruments and styles. I discovered painting after I survived a fire and decided to repaint an abstract portrait of a friend that had been lost. From that moment I fell in love with painting and decided, as I usually do, to learn the history and adapt from artists I related to. Pablo Picasso and Van Gogh were first off the bat (to no ones surprise), but I gained incredible inspiration from Cezanne, Derain, Caravaggio, Rothko, Toulouse-Lautrec, art forger John Myatt, and the largest influence in the menagerie the greats, Henri Matisse. I spent nearly three months in Virginia and D.C. concentrating on my work, as well as studying the masters at the museums. It was indeed a nice isolation period. My art overflows into several mediums which include music, film, photography, and sometimes a mixture of several of them.
