Fashion – Boston
Dawnamatrix designer Dawn Mostow holds the titles of RAW Boston Fashion Designer of the Year 2012 and Miss Rubber World 2010. She was trained in the art of kimono and garment construction during her years in rural Takayama City, Japan.
Dawn holds an MFA in New Forms from Pratt Institute and is currently writing her thesis on transformative fashion for her MLA in Visual Arts at Harvard University.
Latex couture is a revolution in fashion, merging fine art with high fashion. This collection of elegant and daring styles for men and women features latex in over 50 colors including transparent and metallic tones, and unique handmade textured patterns such as multi-tone checkerboard, pinstripe, and dragon scale. All aspects of Dawnamatrix garments are made by Dawn personally, from sketch to pattern to final construction.
Dawnamatrix garments have been displayed in museum and gallery spaces around Boston, including the State House of Representatives, Harvard University, the Boston Children\'s Museum, and the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation. Dawnamatrix has graced the runways of Boston, NYC, Montreal, Washington D.C., Houston, and Providence.
Dawnamatrix takes pride in community involvement and was honored to sponsor fundraiser events in 2011 and 2012 for the Japan Red Cross Tsunami Relief Fund and the Boston Globe Santa Fund, collectively raising over $16,000.
