I\'ve been wearing these shenanigans in my hair for more years than I can count anymore , and like everything significant in my life thus far, it began with a seed. In this case, it was a combination of these factors: 1. drastically torn favorite skirt; not the most flattering but the material was exquisite. .2.:The shame I feel about wasting anything beautiful, however torn, chipped or damaged it is. ( Many artist friends who make mosaics, etc. have benefited from my clumsily broken things...) I just can\'t waste Anything if it has the potential to come alive again, in some other form. 3.:My compulsion to address said woefully damaged skirt, by slicing exquisite material into ribbons etc. , And start wearing said ribbons in my hair. For 2 decades or so, I was a busy artist and window dresser, who also spent allot of time explaining to strangers how they could make their own. ( r.e. the shenanigans in my hair ) Most frequently expressed words: \" oh! i thought that was your hair!\" and \" Would you make one for me? \" and more recently, \" Do you have a website?\" Long story short, ( ish ) I AM marketing them now, they are beautiful in a splashy messy sort of way, have evolved into more jewelry-like forms ( combs with beads that catch the light most unexpectedly, etc.), they are ineffably lovely, and unabashedly feminine. Dea: The Italian word word for \" Goddess \" , money back garuntee. Dreads: Because they emulate hair.
