My grandmother taught me to sew as a little girl before I even started school. Later I earned an MFA in Painting & Printmaking and won a variety of awards and scholarships before becoming fascinated with computers. I emerged as a self-taught programmer and settled into a career as an IT specialist for Fortune 500 companies.
I started Steady Threads Studio to continue my creative work, full time, with embroidery, graphics and textile design. By combining these three media, I invented a brand new form of original design. Because of the unusual approach and look of my textiles, and, the way I design them around the cut of garments, I was invited by Vida, an exclusive fashion design manufacturer, to join their curated group of designers.
